How to host a bridal shower for about $1,000
- Host at someones home, club house, or anywhere that will cost $0
- Keep food cost low by having buffet style food
- Buy appetizers and alcohol at wholesale grocery stores
- DIY the decorations and flowers

For my bridal shower, in true type-A personality, I planned (almost) everything. Not that the bridesmaids were not capable of planning a wonderful bridal shower, its just I have control issues. Thankfully no bad blood was spilled because my bridesmaids understand my crazy. Given my obsession with flowers and decor, I decided to take over that aspect of the planning and left the rest to the bridesmaids.

How We Kept the Cost Down
- I offered my home to be the location: $0
- My family let us borrow all the white chairs: $0
- I did the flower arrangements and decor myself: labor cost $0
- I already had two rectangular tables and white table cloths: $0
- We used my extensive serving dish collection: $0

I budgeted myself to $500 for the bridal shower and was able to include whole-sale flowers, decorations and the hair + make-up trail. I found most of my decorations at Target, Amazon or Home Goods. I went to a local flower whole-saler that sells to the general public. I was even able to splurge and got myself David Austin roses! Since I knew my wedding was not going to have a lot of flowers, I decided to make the flowers at my bridal shower a little over the top. I let each of my bridesmaids, mom and aunts take an arrangement home as a thank-you gift. The catch was that I needed my vases back! (I have a decent vase collection that came in handy)
