DIY Laiva Ikea Hack

Does anyone else get excited when ikea updates the show room?

This would be the third time I move furniture around in the office. I started out by placing the desk in the middle of the room to face the large window that overlooks the backyard. I then changed my mind and decided to put the desk up against the wall to make more room for activities. Only to then decided that I much rather enjoy looking out a window versus a wall when I’m sitting at the desk.

On my trip to ikea I came across this woven rug to swap out the prior rug, I never got around to dry cleaning.

I also found this bookshelf, but it wasn’t in my preferred color. So I convinced myself that for the $20 sale price it was a justifiable purchase. I could easily paint the shelf white with left over chalk paint (see how I used it in the guest bath).

I styled the bookshelf with decor I had already to avoid shopping (read why here).

I’m not 100% sold on the framed prints on the wall (top, bottom, frames), but until I figure out what to do with that wall; it’ll stay put. Thats the beauty with decorating your home, its a work in progress.

The wall behind the desk displays all our diplomas and certificates. The frames are also from ikea.
